United Soldiers and Sailors of America (USASOA) Care Package and Food Drive Event

Volunteers raised and donated over $1,000 worth of items, such as toiletries and food, and packaged them into 60+ care packages for homeless veterans. Through coordination with USASOA, these care packages were tailored to meet current needs and distributed to homeless veterans in a time of increased need during the height of the pandemic. An additional $500 worth of items were directly donated to USASOA’s pantry.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) – Stuff the Pantry

Several individuals donated over 80 bulk items to stock the pantry of the RMHC’s Northern Virginia location that were delivered on or before families arrived on August 9, 2021. This amounted to several hundred snack and meal items for families as the location re-opened to families for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. The team also sent letters to critically ill children in participation with RMHC.

Code of Support Foundation

Aeyon sponsors the Code of Support Foundation. The Code of Support Foundation changes lives by connecting military, veterans, caregivers, and families to the support they have earned through their service and sacrifice.

Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS)
Team Aeyon participated in the National Military Survivor Seminar (NMSS) and Good Grief Camp hosted by the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) on May 24th. Volunteers helped set up for the event by organizing and packing tote bags to be handed out to seminar attendees. NMSS and TAPS Good Grief Camp is a program for children who have lost a loved one who served in the Armed Forces.

Justice Park Habitat Restoration Event

Aeyon celebrated Earth Day early by participating in the Justice Park Habitat Restoration Event in Falls Church, Virginia led by the Fairfax County Park Authority’s Invasive Management Area Program. On April 16, 2022, the Aeyon team, our family, and friends contributed to improving the park’s ecosystem. By donning gardening gloves and hand removing invasive English ivy, which is toxic if consumed by animals and threatens the survival of trees and other vegetation, volunteers helped save thousands of dollars in professional removal services.

Aeyon Scholarship Program

Aeyon is pleased to announce the continuation of legacy Sehlke Consulting’s scholarship program to support and encourage dependents of Aeyon employees enrolled at an accredited college or technical/trade school. These awards will be made for the 2022 – 2023 academic year in memory of Master Sergeant Scott E. Pruitt, who served as an instructor at the Marine Corps Combat Service Support School in North Carolina and served as a financial management Marine for 18 years on Marine and Naval bases around the world. MSgt Pruitt sacrificed his life for our Country while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan in 2012.

Children’s National Hospital

This March, Aeyon has invited all employees, friends, and family to support the Children’s National Hospital Virtual Storytime Program. Volunteers will record themselves reading a story which will be played for kids throughout the hospital.

Operation Covert Santa

Aeyon elves were busy in Santa’s workshop again this year, supporting Operation Covert Santa. Husky Elf assigned team Aeyon the mission of showering an injured Staff Sergeant in the US Army, and his family, with gifts for Christmas. Our elves purchased, wrapped, and delivered everything on their humble wish list and much more, including hundreds of dollars in gift cards, clothing, copious amounts of toys for the little ones, and an iPad with an App Store gift card to purchase apps that may be able to assist the service member with navigating his current challenges.

Water for People Hike-A-Thon

Aeyon supported the Water for People Hike-a-thon in Rock Creek Park as a lunch sponsor, contributing boxed lunches for the hikers and direct support for Water for People. Water for People is a global nonprofit that helps people bring clean water and sanitation solutions to communities for generations to come. Hikers participated in a four mile socially distanced hike in Rock Creek Park which included several water and sanitation themed trivia check points where they were challenged on their knowledge of global clean water access, sanitation practices and more!

Stop Solider Suicide Vet Fest 5k Fundraiser

To help raise awareness of and reduce soldier suicide, Aeyon supported Stop Soldier Suicide with a fundraiser for their Vet Fest 5k race. Funds were raised during the month of September for Stop Soldier Suicide, and staff participated in the organization’s Vet Fest Virtual 5k. Every $30 raised funded an hour of personalized, trauma-informed care for veterans in need.

Women’s Networking Group Clothing Drive

The Artlin Women’s Networking Group (WNG) sponsored a clothing drive to support Women Giving Back (WGB), a local organization based out of Sterling, Virginia. WGB supports women and children in crisis on a first step to stability by providing quality clothing at no cost, assisted by a caring and committed community (https://womengivingback.org/). A donation box was set up at Artlin headquarters where employees donated several clothing items as well as diapers and other items in need by the women WGB supports.

YPFP Program Management and Career Perspectives Workshop

The Artlin Community Service Committee Partnered with the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) to host a workshop on Program Management and Career Perspectives on April 22, 2021. With over 100 participants in the workshop and Q&A, this event was a major success. Artlin team members put together an engaging presentation on Program Management and included their perspectives on how to best develop yourself within each stage of your career including 0-5 years of experience, 5-10 years of experience, 10+ year perspective, as well as guidance for those transitioning from the military or government service to the private sector. Artlin looks forward to continuing our partnership with YPFP in the months and years ahead.

America’s VetDogs Freedom Run & Dog Walk Series

Artlin is a proud sponsor of the Freedom Run & Dog Walk series as part of our continued support of America’s VetDogs, an amazing organization that places service dogs for those with physical disabilities or post-traumatic stress disorder, guide dogs for those who are blind or have low vision, as well as facility dogs as part of the rehabilitation process in military and VA hospitals. In April 2021, the Artlin team and our family and friends participated in the Liberty Challenge Virtual 5K Run & Dog Walk, the first of three Virtual 5K’s being held by America’s VetDogs this year. We look forward to participating in the Independence Challenge in July and the Honor Challenge in November. Virginia FBLA Virtual State Leadership Conference

Artlin proudly sponsored the 2021 Virginia Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Virtual State Leadership Conference. This two-week virtual conference allows FBLA members in high school to learn leadership skills through the competitive events program, motivational speakers, and skill building workshops. Artlin was the featured sponsor on the virtual conference app and mentioned during several conference virtual sessions. Artlin had the opportunity to interact with FBLA members, answering questions about the company while managing the virtual exhibitor booth and served as a guest judge for the Publication Design competitive event. Artlin looks forward to additional opportunities to partner with Virginia FBLA to help support and grow the leaders of the future.

Poker Night

Artlin put on our first ever Charity Poker Night on February 25th 2021 in support of our quest to feed 1,000 people through Capital Area Food Bank. During the month of February, Artlin collected “buy-ins” in the form of donations for the food bank. Our fundraising drive was a massive success!  Artlin employees turned out and we shattered our goal and donated a total of 3,498 meals at 2 meals per dollar! Our employees participated our high stakes poker game with several others joining to watch the contest – fun was had by all!

Operation Second Chance Scholarship Fundraiser

Operation Second Chance is a local, Maryland based, organization offering assistance to wounded, injured, and ill service members and veterans, and further aiding their assimilation back into active duty or civilian life. Every year, OSC provides grants for qualifying service members, veterans, and their families in pursuit of higher education. The number of individuals they are able to assist depends on funds raised by the organization. From August to December 2020, Artlin held a fundraising campaign to fully fund at leastone scholarship for the Operation Second Chance Scholarship Program. We raised $3,900 from Artlin employees, as well as friends and family, bringing the total donated to $5,000 for the 2021 scholarship grants.
