George Kovatch
George has over 30 years of Government and private sector experience focused primarily on the Departments of Defense (DoD) and Homeland Security (DHS) Budget, Appropriations, Operations, Strategy, and Risk. He most recently served as Deputy Comptroller (Budget & Appropriations Affairs) for the Department of Defense where he led teams of senior military and civilians from all service branches and was responsible for supporting the Secretary of Defense’s priorities to resource the National Defense Strategy (NDS) and secure congressional support for DoD’s $700+ (now $800+) billion annual budget.
He is a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. George served in several ships in positions up through Commanding Officer and was designated as a Coast Guard Financial manager. Originally from Massachusetts, he is a graduate of Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and Columbia Business School’s Executive MBA program.
